RECEIVE HIS WORD
A member is one who believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father (John 14:6) and upholds the whole Bible as the standard for truth (2 Timothy 3:16). We at Lake Valley Baptist Church (LVBC) strive to follow the pattern founded by Christ carried out by the Holy Ghost through the work of the apostles as seen in the book of Acts. Acts 2:41-47 clearly defines a member and its expectations: 1) They are ones who are believers in the triune God. 2) Baptized according to the Scriptures. 3) Added to the assembly of other believers and recognized themselves as such. 4) Continued (in the doctrine) to be learners and teachers of the Word of God. CONTINUE IN DOCTRINE AND FELLOWSHIP
Each member at Lake Valley Baptist is expected to be an active part of the body of Christ engaged in biblical community. At LVBC each member is expected to stay connected and to be active through the Preaching, Sunday School, Fellowship, and Bible Studies that are available for the growth of the body of Christ. The Church is God’s way to grow spiritually as the body of Christ is committed to teaching God’s Word, a genuine community, and encouraging one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25) 

BEING IN FAVOR WITH ALL MEN
Every member embraces the opportunity to be mission minded. The Bible is clear as it speaks to those who are fully devoted followers of Jesus by commanding us to care for the least of these (Matthew 25:45 ), to serve those in need (Matthew 20:28), and to reach those who do not know Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20). Being mission minded at Lake Valley Baptist is being a representative and ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20) for Christ in how you live, love, and care for people.
